The frail filament strands that
suspend us in parallel travel
are intricately woven back onto
themselves, situated so cleverly that
one day we’re asked to lead the ones

who helped us find the way. To lift
and carry those who shouldered
our weight in another time, on a
passage of interlaced perseverance,
striding step by grace-filled step.
