Memoir
Babies not embraced
turn into sullen kids
not good enough,
graduating to insecure
young adults, lost
in bad decisions for
long skeletal years,just searching for
the undeniable place
where shoulders soften,
bellies peacefully sag,
and each breath out
hums the melody
of utter belonging.

(WordPress Photo Challenge is a weekly prompt to share a photo–I enjoy twisting these macro prompts to share our micro life here on the Colorado prairie. My photos are taken with my phone, on my farm. No psych, definitely not high tech.)
<3 love the photo and the words. thank you!! and thank you ERB!
Edgar thanks you and so do I!
I just LOVE this message! I relaxed a little bit more just reading it : )
Thank you, Debbie. That’s my plan!
Sweet! I can feel the hum and the great grounding body with the sky! Thank you.
Thanks, Josephine. Amen.
Can’t tell you how frequently I think of your words and thoughts about about relaxing, letting go and BREATHING! I have always been a very intense and driven person and even at the ripe age of 61, still have problems “letting go”. My tense and nervous little Arab gelding would be thanking you if he knew how much you have helped me to be more kind, gentle and thoughtful with him. Those deep breaths and loud exhales have gone a long way in soothing both of us. Looking forward to the new book and THANK YOU for your writing!
So glad to hear that you and your Arab, I think you know how I feel about that breed, are on a happy path. Thanks so much, Tracy, for reading here and the books. It takes a village.
Great photo and meaningful poem. Screen captured so I can see/read it again and again. Your mind works in beautiful ways and pours forth in words. What a gift!
Thanks, Jean. I really enjoy doing these photo challenges.
