Family is a word we all use strongly. We have birth family and past that, our intended family of choice, and somewhere over-top of all that is the Family of our Earth. I think life well lived might be about getting beyond the love/empathy for small family we are born in, to a more inclusive love/empathy for our infinite Earth Family. It’s the family that I aspire to, but fail frequently.
“Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”

WordPress Photo Challenge is a weekly prompt to share a photo- I enjoy twisting these macro prompts to share our micro life here on the Colorado prairie. My photos are taken with my phone, on my farm. No psych, definitely not high-tech.
Love this photo and the quote. Happy MLK Day!
And the same to you, thanks.
I have a monster birth family of Mormons (mom) and Catholics (dad). I’m estranged from everyone except two stepsisters, a niece, and a nephew. I don’t miss them at all. They were much too negative for me. I like to surround myself with positive people.
Like you, my birth family was Negative. And that is a kind term. Glad to hear (from reading your blog) that you have found a more inclusive family, as I have. We have more choice in this world than it seems sometimes. Thanks for the camp out.
