Edgar Rice Burro is born for free jumping. I know, suspend the disbelief. No whips or spurs, just equine excellence!
Appearances are deceptive: There is a magnificent intelligence just under that huge brow, but no one is more playful than Edgar. On this morning, he’d been running laps and jumping for ten minutes before I got to the pen. My phone has a delayed shutter so I rely on luck for action shots, but Edgar gave me lots of chances. He’s worn out two ponies and an athletic young mare so far this week.
The power line pole he’s jumping over is the very definition of perspective, and Edgar possesses more depth and dimension than expected, too. Might be time to re-ass-ess your perspective about donkeys as well.

WordPress Photo Challenge is a weekly prompt to share a photo- I enjoy twisting these macro prompts to share our micro life here on the Colorado prairie. My photos are taken with my phone, on my farm. No psych, definitely not high-tech.
Happy boy! love the photo.
My disbelief is suspended! How fun.
Heheheh! Edgar is vindicated!! Thank you!
I’ll never think of burros the same way again.
Attagirl!
Adorable…….whoda thunk?
I SWEAR I see angel wings helping him float over the electric pole just like Pegasus.
Yes, spotted wings…
He is cuteness plus!
I’ll tell him you said so. Edgar has a way with the women.
Oh my gosh! I love him. Adorable. I think Breyer should make a model horse, I mean burro, based on him!
And I have a related a$$ joke (which is funny because I’m not really a swear-er). Today I wrote the homework on my whiteboard, just like I do every morning. There’s a samurai project due Friday and I wrote: “Friday: self-assessed project” only I forgot the second set of s’s and the second e. My first period class didn’t notice my error. During the next class one of my sharpest 7th graders discreetly told me that I left out some letters. I went over and erased with my hand and inserted the missing letters. Had a good chuckle.
Heheh…in our world ass jokes are terms of respect, donkeys and mules are smart and sweet.
