I am trying to stick with it… I just feel like I’ve lost him. I miss that thunder of feet when I call and I feel so sad …. it’s like we went from being friends to strangers. Maybe he has Stockholm syndrome and needs me to be his captor to be happy…

    Thank you!

It’s quite hard to tell from eBay if the bridles will tighten around his nose ( which I don’t want) – but I will keep up my search. I will also look for the noseband wraps – that’s a good idea!

I really don’t know whether I should try him in a bit or not… and if so which bit… and what are the pros and cons of both?

    Hello,

You have all the most beautiful stories and horses! Thank you for sharing them 🙂

I gradually grown a largish family the last year or so…
Barkley whose a 3 yo Vizsla and Jamaica his 17mo “sister”… are woofers who are pretty much centre of the household…
Ralph the moggy cat who rules the roost…
Shrek and Fiona – two 14yo donkeys who we rescued from life without hoof trims…
Ailsa grey dun highland pony filly, 14months old whose been with us from
    7 months old…
Baloo a black an white gypsy cob gelding who like his sister joined us as a weanling and is now 15 months old…
Amber, a 17 year old quarter horse c Arab bay mare who was gifted to us last year by an amazing woman who just wanted to find her a good home…
Boz my mate, a 15 year old Chestnut Arab who lost his right eye 5 years ago … came to me a few months ago to teach me how to listen and breathe…
Then of course there are the pets… Chops and Paddy the orphaned lambs ( now big wethers!) and their foster sisters Sausage, Sauce and Barbie the goat girls who came to keep the lambs company when they were all bottle fed together…
There are the chookens who are generally just about the place too and of course my partner who tolerates my obsessions but loves our family as much as me ( particularly the donks)

We are a rag tag bunch trying to learn to breathe together, laugh and lead when we need to. All thanks to my mum who unknowingly funded most of my family after she passed from cancer two years ago. She must have known though, as she did pull my partner aside while in hospice and gave him some final instructions on me- including I since learned “ not to let me get too many animals” lol.

I hesitated joining the barn… I love the writings Anna but I’m not a great video person… but I need to learn how to speak horse, donkey, goat, sheep, dog and cat… so I need all the help I can get!
