    Hello –

I am here because Anna’s blog posts and books resonate with how I wish to be with horses. I would like guidance on how to deepen the partnership with my ottb Valentino.
First horse of my own – I’ve been riding for about fifteen years. Val was a failure as a racehorse – I suspect due to extreme energy conservancy. He is a lovely guy with a big sense of humor.
For a while I had a wonderful dressage trainer with horses come first philosophy, who found Val for me, but she moved out of the area.

We live very far from any kind of training opportunities now. Four years ago we traveled (seven hours) to a bio-mechanics clinic.
Before there was even a chance to mount up the first day, someone ran around behind Val while I was saddling him. He spooked violently into me. I had nowhere to go,
so my arm was shattered between him and the stall door. This resulted in me having to trailer Val home one-armed, and eventually surgery.
I have only ridden intermittently since then. Even though the incident wasn’t a mounted one, my confidence takes some real effort to summon.

Sorry for the novel, and thanks. 😀
