  1. Anna, I was just talking about this idea yesterday with good friends who are fascinated by my changed life in the last four years. I tried to explain that yes horses can be dangerous; they are expensive; the require a lot of attention and they can be stubborn. But almost every day Aruna will slowly walk over to me when I am cleaning their feeding area, lower her head very slowly and I will put my head on her forehead and I will stare into the exposed eye. And she stares back. Sometimes she will do that for only ten seconds. Other times she will do it for maybe a minute or two. I really do not know because it is an eternal moment. When that happens, I know why these magnificent creatures have changed my life. That is what I get when I look at your picture.

    • I get hung up on taking photos of eyes, and looking into them all day long. Yes, that is the eternal moment. Trite as it sounds, even after a life with horses, I fall in love each time, all over again, humble and besotted. They changed my life too. Thanks, Fred.

  3. I still think about the times when Chico would walk up & just put his head against my chest – usually it was when he wasn’t feeling too good, but not always! Miss that.
